Final Projects

For my final project I would love to make a video with different clips as well as interviews by students on their thoughts on legalizing marijuana and medical marijuana.  I'm not sure if this could get someone in trouble though.  I would like to focus on a couple topics as the legalization of marijuana is a huge subject with many different categories.  1.  Medical Marijuana and its benefits. 2. how much money our country could make from decriminalizing Marijuana through taxes and tariffs as well as the decrease in imprisonment due to marijuana (as I watched national geographic "exploring marijuana" they stated that 800,000 people were arrested for marijuana related charges many a simple possession charge, hurting the already over crowded prison system). 3. the "war on drugs" failure in the U.S. where we throw away billions of dollars to arrest contributing members of society who use medical marijuana for their health benefit.

2nd PODCAST

the second podcast I listened to was Dr. Bob's cannabuzz.  It is an educational podcast about the real truths of smoking marijuana and promoting the legalization of marijuana.  I learned of one of the biggest experts in the legalization of marijuana community.  Dr. Malomead a professor of biology at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.  He described how the drug works on the body and how it regulates your system from stress and pain.  He also states that developing studies are all supporting the benefits of marijuana vs. the harm which is limited.  He also says that THC the main ingredients works through the C which attaches to your cabbanoid receptors which is a part in your brain and controls the whole body and without the use of the cabbanoid receptors they will close up and eventually causes your body to deteriorate.  Studies are in process that say that the baby boomers have a lower rate of Parkinson's disease due to the high levels of THC in their systems.  It was an awesome radio show with a lot of scientific evidence supporting the legalization of marijuana.

PODCAST"S!!

The first podcast I used was called waiting to inhale, which was a 5 minute video with interviews with about 5 or 6 men and women who used medical marijuana for health issues.  Such as a women who was addicted to pain killers and discovered marijuana which helped her chronic pain more than the pain killers but it took her over 4 years to break the addiction of pain killers, which didn't allow her to do anything without being helped by her husband.  Also, there was a man who was found not guilty for possesion of marijuana because he pleaded that any sane man would break the law to acquire marijuana if they knew it would help prevent and prolong him from going blind.  The judge agreed with him and he still has not gone blind.  It was a very interesting podcast and there is only one out right now I will be waiting for the next episode to come out!
